Verb Conjugation Lessons

Are conjugation lessons important? When I look for them online I just get lessons on tenses.

Answer:

Teaching conjugations is important, since a conjugation is the way a verb changes to show number, person or tense. And students should definitely know that!

Now, by teaching the different tenses you inevitably teach conjugations, too.

For example, when you teach the simple present you show that the base form of the verb changes according to the person, such as: GO --> GOES

And when you teach the simple past you show that the base form of the verb changes according to the tense, such as: GO --> WENT

When you finish teaching the tenses, you may want to do a conjugation lesson to sum everything up nicely, and also give your students a practical table of all verb conjugations.
