If you look inside an English Dictionary, you will see that almost all words starting with the letter Q have the letter U for the second letter.

There are exceptions of words spoken in the English Language that start with a Q, but are not followed by a U.

These words are of Arabic, Chinese, Hebrew or similar language which does not use this rule.

For example:
The Arabic word Qadi, which means, "a Muslim judge."
